The sun is harsh all year round, even more so in summer, and may damage your skin, especially if you have a light complexion. There are steps you can take to avoid this.

  1. Use sun screen. This is one of the obvious things people take for granted but don’t often follow through on. Always use sun protection or sun lotion all the time when you are directly exposed to the sun, and even when you’re not.
  2. Hydrate your skin. Since you’ll be outdoors a lot, it is important you keep your skin hydrated. Shower, take a bath or spritz some water on your skin using a facial mist to fight inflamation caused by the sun. Also, drink lots of water.
  3. Avoid sun exposure. Even though you want to be outdoors, keep your body covered to prevent skin damage.
