We often hear women say they struggle to work with other women, but for the longest time women have founded stokvels, clubs and many other beneficial platforms that continue to empower and inspire others.

In the music biz, it is not that different. Destiny’s Child did it and so did Spice Girls, so let’s not buy into the ‘women don’t get along with other women’ myth.

Anniki Maswanganye of Ekhaya Creations is active in the entertainment biz and has put together an impressive platform for women in the performing arts titled Women in Song Legacy Tour. The tour was established in 2015 and aims to celebrate the female artists of South Africa, as well as the living legends that have been an inspiration and paved the path for local young artists. The tour is a two-part event: a master class where music icons Dorothy Masuku and Abigail Kubeka will each share their knowledge and wisdom with young and upcoming artists.

The Women in Song Legacy Tour to be held at Bolivia Lodge, Polokwane on 4 November 2017 20h00, will feature the talented Deborah Fraser, Mabongi, Candy Tsa Mandebele, Ladies in Jazz, Calandray Cally and Boitumelo Maisela. It promises an experience that offers enlightenment and the mystical sounds of gospel, jazz and soul by women who have dedicated their lives to the South African arts.
