There are certain exercises that even the fittest of people and their trainers love to hate – the burpee! This little power move consists of a squat thrust that starts and ends in a standing position.
If you want to burn fat, speed up your metabolism or condition your body, few exercise moves will get you there better than a burpee. According to Krista Stryker, the founder of 12 Minute Athlete, the different kinds of burpees include planks, push-ups, tuck jumps and/or pull-ups at the end. Learn how to do a burpee in these easy five steps:
Step 1: You must stand straight, then lower your body into a squat position with your hands on the floor or the ground in front of you.
Step 2: Kick your feet back, as if you are doing a push-up, and immediately drop your chest to the floor/ground.
Step 3: As you come up, arch your chest up then return your feet back to the squat position, as quickly as you can.
Step 4: Then jump up into the air, as high as you can.
Step 5: Repeat everything according to your own preferred sets and repetitions.
