Lebogang Lesu grew up at Kwa-Mhlanga, a small town just outside Pretoria but geographically situated in Mpumalanga and has a daughter. She attended high school in Cultura High School in Bronkhorstspruit; did her tertiary studies at the University of Pretoria where she received a BComm Informatics. Lebo, as she prefers to be called, continued her studies to obtain an Honours Degree in Information Systems at UNISA.
Coming from a family of many siblings from her mother and father’s side, her upbringing was very tough as apposed to the good life she says her siblings had. Her stepfather physically abused Lebo and this drove her to get out of the house, seek freedom and become an independent woman.
Lebo currently works as an SAP Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC) Solution Architect where she provides end-to-end professional services by implementing and upgrading audit friendly security strategies, addressing compliance issues using the SAP GRC tool and issue resolution within integration testing and Go-Live readiness phases. Her other business expertise are in business process optimization, Information security, mentorship, technical guidance, training, segregation of duties and SOX (Sarbanes Oxley) compliance.
IT Industry, Male-Dominated Much?
Trying very hard not to sound feminist, Lebo says it was harder for her to work with men when she was consulting in Qatar due to cultural reasons, stating that career opportunities are limited to women in the Middle East. Moreover, the majority of clients she worked with were predominately male, which made it harder as one needs to bite the bullet a lot of times and fight for their own expertise and advise to be acknowledged.
Coming back from the Middle East, Lebo had gained a lot of weight and needed a fast pain-free way to get rid of the fat, so one day she visited a slimming clinic called Casa de Classe Slimming Clinic. Being an opportunity-driven woman, she thought that getting the same kind of machines used in the clinic would be a great idea. She setup a beauty and slimming clinic that does a range of treatments such as radio frequency, skin tightening, cellulite treatments and laser liposuctions. The clinic started out with only one client but today it boasts 40 clients since its launch on the 22 December 2014. Lebo also ventured into fashion and travel globally to bringing her clients a wide range of exclusive garments.
What Drives Her
Her daughter is her biggest motivation in life; this is to ensure a better future for her. She is definitely a parent with pizazz! She is able to maintain a loving home although she is a super businesswoman. She loves making the client happy by exceeding their expectations within the allocated budget and being able to maintain a long-term, rewarding relationship with them. Moreover, meeting women from different demographics and helping them to achieve their weight/beauty goals without the use of Botox and surgery is her biggest drive.
Her Top Tip For Women
As much as I’d love to be a housewife, I believe women should work and it should come from inside. One must have goals set so that they are able to ensure a better future for themselves.
