The Real Architects Of Society hosted their sixth annual celebration in August 2016, where 10 women were awarded across 13 categories as being the most successful in their respected fields.
South African Olympic gold medallist Caster Semenya unfortunately couldn’t attend as she was participating in the 2016 Rio Olympic Games. Following a successful Women’s Month in which the tenacity of South African women was the key focus, former Miss South Africa now businesswoman Joan Ramagoshi Madibeng presented Caster Semenya with the Athletic Excellence Award.
Caster said, “It gives me great pleasure to accept this award. With every step I take, I thank God for everything that has been giving to me. It is moments like this that remind me why I get up every day and represent my country.”
Upon arrival at the awards ceremony, guests were welcomed by a pampering session. Key speaker, long-time South African journalist Helen Grange, took to the stage where she shared her thoughts on women empowerment and urged Caster Semenya to continue to make her country proud. Other attendees included musical director and actress Relebogile Mabotja and Xanopia Women’s Business Group CEO, Farzana Varachia.
“I would like to congratulate Caster Semenya on her outstanding contribution in the field of sports in South Africa. We have gathered here as mothers, sisters, wives and the numerous hats that we put on to continue the conversation of empowering women of all ages, with a firm emphasis on the nation’s girl-children grooming the future leaders of South Africa,” said Joan Ramagoshi Madibeng, founder of Women, The Real of Architects.
