When your skin tends to look dull, it’s often caused by weather changes. A combination of cold weather and central heating can cause chaos and interfere with your natural glow. You often find you’re either left with your skin feeling dry or on the flip side, it’s too oily which as a result makes your face look less than its fabulous best. Then there are those other times, that for no good reason at all, regardless of climate changes, you just have a bad skin day. But do not worry – here are four simple things you can do from home, to renew your skin and give your face that ‘wow’ factor.
- Polish – Use a pinch of ground brown rice, mix with a drop of almond and essential lavender oil and gently massage into the face. Rinse with warm water and wipe with a damp face cloth.
- Steam – Add a few drops of lemon and lavender oil to a large bowl of boiling hot water, cover your head with a towel and inhale the rising steam. Wet the face cloth with cold water, dab onto the face and neck and gently massage the skin, stroking it upwards.
- Feed – Ensure your diet is rich in Vitamin C foods such as oranges, leafy greens and take fish oil at least once a week.
- Mobilize – Stretch facial and neck muscles after applying a moisturizer, stretch up your neck; stretch the lips and cheeks. This assists in releasing tension from the jaws, neck and shoulder muscles and helps to bring firmness back to your skin.
