- Frontload your calories

The most ideal smoothies are made with real, nutrient-rich ingredients that provide a good balance of vitamins and fats. Fat is excellent for is used by your body to burn energy so a truly healthy smoothie should have some dietary fat for the body to use in assimilating the vitamins. While on your journey to a hot summer body, remember that drinking a smoothie in the morning keeps you from indulging in empty carbohydrates like donuts.
- Be pro-protein
To help your muscles recover after a hard workout, reach for a snack that contains protein. Twenty-five grams is the amount required to help your muscles repair and build, and the addition of lean muscle mass will ultimately help you burn more calories during the day. Something as simple as a smoothie with a scoop of whey protein powder can do the trick.
- Banting for that summer bod
