Finding the right colour blush for your skin tone is a challenge, but how to apply it properly is another one altogether!
Blush is worn for different reasons: to brighten up your face, compliment the lips or work with the cheekbones to accentuate and change the shape of the face. Whatever your reason for dipping into the blush, we have seven steps to help you apply your rouge to get the best effect:
Step 1: Choose a blush shade that matches your natural complexion.
Step 2: Make sure you apply the blush last if your plan is to wear full make-up.
Step 3: Sweep the brush over the blush and tap it lightly to remove excess if you are using the powder blush. Use your fingers if the blush type is gel or cream.
Step 4: Look in the mirror and smile at yourself; it will feel a bit weird but it is the only way to find the apples of your cheeks.
Step 5: Apply your preferred shade of blush on the centre of your apples on both sides of your face and then blend the colour over your cheekbones. If using a gel or a cream blush, blotch the colour first and use your finger or a make-up sponge to blend it in.
Step 6: Should you over-apply your blush, just use some translucent powder to cover it up and mollify the colour.
Step 7: Use a glowing powder on your face to dust everything off and obtain a complete new look.
